Legal Aid
Police Station representation by this firm is free at the police
station level and is available 24 hours.
Legal Aid will only cover justifiable and necessary attendances. Normally we
will only attend when the officers are ready to give us disclosure (a brief
outline of the case against the suspect), prior to interview.
Youth & Magistrates Court
Legal Aid might be available if you satisfy the interests of justice and
means testing provisions.
Crown Court This is non-means tested, with only CDS14 having to be
completed initially to persuade the court that Legal Aid should be granted to
the defendant in the interests of justice. The court might impose a Criminal
Costs Recovery Order at the conclusion of the case. Means testing is soon to be
introduced at
crown court level.
